Look to the Father

I look behind

          And see mistakes;

I glance back

          And my heart aches.

I look around me

          And see despair;

I search for wheat

          And find the tares.

I look to the future

          As a New Year dawns;

I cry out for hope,

          But is it gone?

I look to the Father

          And feel His love,

I fall to my knees,

          Praising Him above.

Don’t look to the past,

          What’s done is done;

Don’t look around,

          For the future’s begun.

Look to the Father,

          From Him hope flows;

Trust in Christ Jesus,

          And remember, He rose.
