This is actually a song to the tune "The Battle Belongs to the Lord."
HIS Mercy Endureth
Jehoshephat's people were
threatened one day;
Three armies came after their land.
They prayed and they fasted till one man did say,
The battle is in the Lord's hand.
Refrain:
They-sang: His mercy en-dur-eth
Forever and ever, we know.
They-sang: His mercy en-dur-eth
Forever and ever, we know.
They gathered their
forces
with singers to lead.
And marched to the site of the Lord.
By praising and singing their hearts were all freed
To lay all their trust in His Word
Refrain:
They-sang: His mercy en-dur-eth
Forever and ever, we know.
They-sang: His mercy en-dur-eth
Forever and ever, we know.
In heavenly armour did
they
sing and pray.
The battle belonged to the Lord.
Their enemies killed one another that day.
Because of the Truth of His Word.
Refrain:
We-sing: His mercy en-dur-eth
Forever and ever, we know.
We-sing: His mercy en-dur-eth
Forever and ever. A-men
